Windermere 		The Dales Way begins at Ilkley and is an 82 mile walk through the stunning scenery of the Yorkshire Dales, ending at Bowness on Windermere.

The Dales Way walking trail is clearly way-marked to provide reassurance on your walking holiday.

Dales Way walking holiday in Yorkshire On the Dales Way walking holiday you follow the River Wharfe upstream from Ilkley via Bolton Abbey, Grassington, Kettlewell, Buckden to Oughtershaw. Then you cut across to the head of the River Ribble and hike in Dentdale downstream along the River Dee via Dent and Sedbergh until you meet the River Lune. You then walk up Lunedale before cutting across farmland north of Kendal and finish the walk on the shores of Windermere at Bowness.
This is a popular walking tour of the Yorkshire Dales, so we have carefully selected comfortable accommodation to ensure you are well rested each night after a busy day hiking and sightseeing.
You can walk this hiking tour over 8 days
at about 10 miles per day.
This English walking holiday operates year round and in either direction.
Short walking breaks are also available, with 2 or 3 days walking. Just select the part of the path you want to walk.
